Audrey is the “Boss” at Moto Liberty
Did someone say gear shop?! Whenever I travel I try to stop in local motorcycle shops, its a great way to chat with other riders and see gear and bikes that might not be common in your area. So, when I met Audrey at a trade show near Dallas and she told me that she owns a 10,000 sf motorcycle shop and strictly carries gear and apparel, well I made time before my flight home to go check it out.
Audrey Menarik has been the sole proprietor of Moto Liberty in Dallas, Texas since she bought out her ex-husband’s half for $10 in 1999. The showroom has since grown from 1400 sf to 6000 sf and that’s just gear … no tires, no parts, no bikes, no service just gear and accessories. That is larger than most full-fledged motorcycle dealerships! More than gear is a great team, everyone at Moto Liberty is extremely friendly and happy to help.
In 2010 Moto Liberty became the only national distributor for RS Taichi in the United States. Audrey and her team educate dealers on the high-end brand and supply them with the products they need.
Of course, Audrey still finds time to ride, these days she enjoys sport touring, but she is proud of her past wins in mini-moto, in a series she helped start in the late 80’s. The race series continues strong today – the Texas Mini GP.
Being obsessed with motorcycle gear myself, it was like heaven walking through the shop. I asked Audrey for a list of the brands she carries in women’s gear, maybe some names are new to you.
